Message by Pope Francis for Lent 2014

"He became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich (cf. 2 Corinthians 8:9)".

It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting
which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday,
through which we attain redemption.

AMASC THEME 2010-2014

Listening with One Heart

To cross the cultural chasm, one must have compassion
Can one have compassion without listening?
Listening to what is in the heart of the other?
To further the goal of unity

The theme of the AMASC Mandate 2010-2014 is
Listening with One Heart
Escuchemos con un solo Corazon.
Nos coeurs unis à l'écoute.

StampsLenten Season
Lent provides us a good opportunity to think about what God is revealing to the world; this message may be heard within the stirrings of our open hearts… if we pay attention.
During Lent take time to look for signs and sounds, listen more attentively to the words of wisdom figures, and to our own thoughts.  This is not the work of a few minutes… it takes time.
As we are Sacred Heart alumnae/I, one special  model  for our contemplation is the heart of Christ.  Christ’s heart never imposes on anyone… but is wide open offering  a spirit of discernment to guide us.
Interior strength is the reward for a Lent well spent… and interior strength will surely be needed if we take up Pope Francis’s challenge to Wake up the World

Inspiring Change
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future. It is a day when women are recognised for their achievements, regardless of divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women. Most countries have organised special events and talks on this special day.
