Our World AMASC Congress is held every four years and is an important and unique opportunity for Sacred Heart Alumnae of the world to meet on common ground, confident of our shared heritage, to explore our different cultures and life experiences.

A stimulating, interesting and conscious-raising Congress programme will incorporate keynote speakers, expert panels and workshops. There will be time for discussion, sharing of ideas as well as learning from respected and challenging speakers. The Congress will be conducted in three languages - French, Spanish and English.

Running in parallel to the AMASC Congress will be the World Meeting of Principals of Sacred Heart Schools and there will be opportunities to meet with them and share some study and social programme.

Sydney is a beautiful sophisticated world city situated on a magnificent natural harbour. Both sites for the Congress - St Ignatius Jesuist College, Riverview and Kincoppal-Rose Bay, School of the Sacred Heart - have commanding views over the waterways. Excellent accommodation has been reserved at the Novotel on Darling Harbour and limited simple rooms in the boarding school at Riverview.

It is Autum in Australia in April when Sydney enjoys a temperature climate with temperatures during the day ranging from 20oC to 25oC.

Sydney is a diverse multicultural city: this has a wonderful influence on our food and lifestyle. Australia is a stable country, politically and economically. It has been acknowledged as the safest destination in the world. Pre and post congress tours will also be offered - to the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical rainforests and to the Dry Centre of Austrarlia with its Aboriginal dreamtime culture. New Zealand can also be included in your visit "Down Under". A companion's tourist/recreational programme will be offered in Sydney and environs during the Congress.
