Pentecost reminds us that God is always the God of the new, yet does so in continuity with what was revealed in Jesus. In order to be true to Pentecost we need to be led by the Spirit and to be true to Jesus in our world. We are called to practice his love, not only to victims of natural disasters, but also to the poor, refugees, HIV/AIDS sufferers and even enemies. We are to strive for the reign of God, for God’s justice, peace and righteousness. As we approach another Pentecost may this be our prayer: Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful people; and kindle in us the fire of your love.May God's Spirit guide us Blessed Whitsun.
