When I print the newsletter, I always get the contents table instead of the article. How can I print the newsletter without this happening?

AMASC NewsletterThis site uses frames which means that the window is divided into different parts. When you print the newsletter you have to make sure that the part that you want to print is active. This can be done by just clicking the mouse in that particular section (Click the mouse in the frame which says President's Message. This means that the frame is now the active one).

When you print the newsletter, your browser will ask how you would like the window to be printed. Choose to print the active frame, but make sure that you have chosen the frame which has the text document inside it. If you don't do that then you might end up printing the contents table or the masterhead.

How do I move from page to page?

Web sites use hyperlinks to move from page to page. These are the text that is a different colour and it underlined. This is an example of a link. If you click on the coloured text it will take you to the main page.

I want to send a file to be published on the AMASC web site. I use a word processor which saves the files with a certain extention. How would you like me to send this file?

We receive many files from people all over the world and in many languages. This means that we encounter many different types of word processing formats, some we have trouble opening. If you do send us a file, we prefer to receive it as a text file (.txt extention) because the formatting does not change any of the characters and words. Most word precessors can save a file as text only. This means that there is no bold or italic text, but this can be done later using a special web site programming code. The actual programming of the web site is done using a program called Notepad and text files are the easiest to format as HTML (the language we use to write the site). We also accept Microsoft Word files (.doc) but other foreign programs can create files which we have trouble opening. If you have any more queries about sending files, please e-mail the Editor.

If you have any questions regarding the AMASC web site, technical queries can be directed to Antonia and questions regarding the content of the newsletter can be sent to Josephine.
