" JASH - Fund Raising Report "

"When we heard the disastrous news of Hurricane Katrina in August,2005, we at JASH ( Japan Alumnae Association of the Sacred Heart) immediately decided to start a fund raising project to help the Sacred Heart Schools and our AMASC friends in New Orleans.

To this means, we held a charity Jazz Concert at the auditorium of Sacred Heart University,Tokyo on November 19,2005. The event turned out to be a big success, drawing an audience of 1,000. We also set donation boxes at various alumnae events, and plan to send the result of these fund raising projects, the total amount of approximately 30,000USD, to "Hurricane Relief, Network Schools" of the Society of the Sacred Heart in St.Louis.

As for the Uganda Project, we have been setting separate donation boxes for the past two years, calling all JASH members for contributions.
The amount so far collected is about 10,000USD, and we will send this to Sr.Irene Cullen in the near future.

All JASH members worked hard for these projects. We sincerely hope that the results will serve to help our friends in New Orleans
and the children of the Sacred Heart School in Uganda."

Thank you very much.

With love and prayers,
Sueko Watanabe, JASH President
