8:30 am to 4:00 pm Plantation Parade
Travel up River Road to two of the most picturesque mansions located
on the Mississippi River: Nottaway and Laura Plantation. Nottaway,
built in the Italianate and Greek revival style is called “the
American Castle”. Intricate frieze work, and hand carved marble
mantles remain as they were when plantation life was at its height.
After the tour, lunch will be served in Randolph Hall.
Situated down river stands Laura, an 1805 year-old sugar plantation.
Constructed in the style known as Louisiana Creole, Laura is a raised
pillar home and elegance of Nottaway. Its renovation is not complete,
and that is how the owners want it. Even the walls reveal fragments
of Civil War cannon balls. Above all, guides share with you the
inner workings of plantation life and intimate family secrets, all
taken from a 1,500 page diary written 200 years ago by the real
Laura herself. Dress: Casual

the French people who were expelled from Nova Scotia and settled
in Louisiana in the 18th century& country. The Academy of the

Sacred Heart school in the world. Surrounded by countless acres
of farmland, pasture and wooded area, the welcome silence creates
an environment in which prayers and reflections move easily. The
Alumnae of the Academy will welcome you warmly and give you a tour
